Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, update your profile, or use our services. This may include your name, email address, profile images, and custom settings (such as preferred roles or room locations within creator worlds).

When you connect third-party accounts (like Patreon, YouTube, Twitch, or Discord), we collect information necessary to verify your membership status, tier level, and identity, such as your user ID, username, and avatar from those platforms.

YouTube Membership Integration: If you choose to link your YouTube account (available to selected users), we collect your YouTube Channel ID, display name, profile picture, and membership level information from YouTube's API. This data is used solely to verify your YouTube channel membership status and display you within creator worlds you are a member of. We request only the minimum necessary scopes to verify membership. Your YouTube data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties. You can unlink your YouTube account at any time through your profile settings.

Discord Activity Worlds: If a creator operates a Discord Activity World, and you are a member of their Discord server, we may collect the following data from Discord on your behalf via the Discord Bot API:

  • Your Discord user ID, username, and avatar.
  • Your Discord server roles (to determine room access and visual colour).
  • Your online/offline presence status within the server.
  • Voice channel activity (which channel you are currently in, if any).
  • Recent message activity in monitored channels (the text content of messages, used temporarily to display speech bubbles — this is not stored permanently).

Message content is only used in real-time to render speech bubbles and is never stored in our database. Presence and role data is refreshed periodically and only retained as long as the world is active.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services.
  • Verify your supporter status across connected platforms (e.g., Patreon, YouTube, Twitch).
  • Display your avatar and chosen name within creator worlds.
  • Process transactions and send related information, including confirmations and receipts.
  • Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support messages.

3. Third-Party Integrations & Data Sources

Our service integrates with third-party platforms including Patreon, YouTube, Twitch, and Discord. We do not control these platforms. When you connect these accounts, we receive information from them in accordance with their privacy policies and your privacy settings on those platforms.

Discord Bot Access: Discord Activity Worlds use a Discord Bot that is authorised by the creator of the world. The bot reads message activity, presence, voice state, and role information from within the creator's server. This data is used solely to power the live visualisation. Only data from channels and roles the creator has configured in their world setup is accessed. We do not read direct messages (DMs) or data from channels outside the configured world channels.

Important: If you cancel your membership or delete your account on a linked platform (e.g., Patreon or Twitch), we will no longer receive your data from them. However, any data previously synced to our platform will remain unless you explicitly request removal or delete your Supporterverse account. For Discord Activity Worlds, if you leave the creator's Discord server, you will no longer appear in the live view, though your linked account record may persist until removed.

4. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. Your data is used solely to operate the features described in this policy.

Data is not transferred to any external parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use Base44 (our hosting and database infrastructure provider) to store and process data securely on our behalf. These providers are contractually bound to only use the data to provide services to us and may not use it for their own purposes.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process (e.g., a court order or government request).

5. Data Removal and Opting Out

We respect your privacy and provide multiple ways to manage your visibility and data:

  • In-App Opt-Out: If you have a Supporterverse account, you can log in, navigate to your Supporter Profile, and toggle the "Opt out of appearing in the world" option for any creator. Your data remains in our system, but your avatar will no longer be displayed publicly.
  • Email Opt-Out (No Account Required): If you do not have a Supporterverse account but wish to be removed from all public creator worlds, you can send an email from the address associated with your Patreon or Twitch account to removeme@supermax.fm. Our automated system will process your request and hide your avatar from all worlds.
  • Account Deletion: You can request full deletion of your Supporterverse account and all associated data by contacting our support team. This will permanently remove your profile, settings, and connection data from our servers.

6. GDPR and Your Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

  • The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
  • The right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate or complete information you believe is incomplete.
  • The right to erasure ("Right to be forgotten"): You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to restrict processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to object to processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • The right to data portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

Discord Data and GDPR: Data collected via Discord Activity Worlds (usernames, avatars, roles, presence) is processed on the basis of legitimate interest in providing the live community visualisation feature. Message content is processed transiently in real-time and never stored. You may request removal of your Discord-linked data at any time by contacting us or by asking the creator to remove your record from their world.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our service and hold certain information to improve and analyze our service. These are essential for authentication, keeping your session secure, and remembering your preferences.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top.
